Buddy Class

Room 3 pupils  are our buddies for this year. Today we met them for the first time. Room 20 were extremely excited and quickly got our room tidy for their visit.
Each pupil from Room 20 was assigned a buddy from Room 3. We chose either a library book or our Writing book to share with our buddies. We all sat outside and read in the glorious sunshine.

Thanks for coming over Room 3. We look forward to many more learning experiences with you!

Leo's news

Today Leo brought a pretty crystal to class as his news. The pupils enjoyed looking at the different markings on it as well as feeling the various textures.
Thanks for sharing Leo.

Tui Assembly

Last Friday we had our second Tui team assembly. Caleb, Ali and Leo all received a Tui Merit certificate.
We talked about the Cockle bay 4cs and our core values. Everyone listened and we were very proud to be part of the Tui team.
The rest of the Tui Merit awards.

News Sharing

Today Lexi shared her news about feeding doves at her Grandma's. The class were very interested and Lexi spoke beautifully, explaining how to tell the difference between a male and female dove.
Thank you for sharing, Lexi!

Abby was also very eager to share her news about a fan that was made in Science club by an older pupil. She felt very lucky to have been given it by the kind pupil.

Maths Games

We are learning how to play different Maths games and activities. As well as learning Maths concepts we are also learning to take turns, share and work together.

Our Learning

We have started using a task board during Reading. This board tells us exactly what we are doing and what we will do next. We  had lots of opportunities to practise reading the task board and following it.

We use the whiteboards to practise spelling of the Essential spelling lists.

Another activity is reading books from the library, shared books and poems.

Getting settled into the class routines

At the end of morning tea and lunch, Rm 20 come into the class independently, get their reading tubs and read silently.
